To the greater community of the south west,
There has been disharmony in our communities due to the actions of Arturo “Pastel aka Paztel” Mireles. The current patriarchal power structure provides individuals such as this man the privilege to go unquestioned, the power to give others, the resources and tools to silence anyone who would question disharmony. No more!
We have questioned the disharmony and will continue to do so. The delivery of the letter on Sunday, April 12, 2015 has created a space for the victims to be heard under their terms. These victims have names, families, lives that are affected daily by the trauma afflicted by this man. The current power structure demands these victims be paraded under a system that was devised to protect male privilege and under the same law that has criminalized our sacred ceremonies for more than 500 years. No more!
It is our duty to call these actions out. It is our duty to support the survivors and those who bring these truths to light. It is also our duty to inform the larger community of this disharmony and the male power structure that has singled out the women who participated in the delivery of the letter. At this moment fear tactics are being used to silence these women by individuals with “military” training and political strategists.
The survivors will not be silenced. We will not be silenced. We ask our larger community to stand with us in denouncing Arturo “Pastel aka Paztel” Mireles and those using fear tactics to silence victims and advocates.

Ha faltado armonía en nuestras comunidades debido a las acciones de Arturo “Pastel aka Paztel” Mireles. La estructura de poder patriarcal actual proporciona a los individuos como este hombre el privilegio de ser incontestable, el poder de dar a los demás, los recursos y herramientas para silenciar a cualquiera que cuestionara la falta de armonía. ¡Ya Basta!
Hemos cuestionado la falta de armonía y seguiremos haciéndolo. La entrega de la carta el Domingo, 12 de abril 2015 ha creado un espacio para que las víctimas sean escuchadas bajo sus términos. Estas víctimas tienen nombres, familias, vidas que están todos los días afectados por el trauma sufrido por este hombre. La estructura de poder actual exige que estas sobrevivientes sean desfiladas bajo un sistema que fue creado para proteger los privilegios masculinos y bajo la misma ley que criminaliza nuestras ceremonias sagradas por más de 500 años. ¡Ya Basta!
Es nuestro deber llamar a estas acciones fuera . Es nuestro deber apoyar a las sobrevivientes y a los que traen estas verdades a la luz. También tenemos el deber de informar a la comunidad más grande de esta falta de armonía y la estructura de poder de los hombres que han señalado a las mujeres que participaron en la entrega de la carta . En este momento las tácticas de miedo se están utilizando para silenciar a estas mujeres por personas con entrenamiento “militar” y estrategas políticos.
No serán silenciadas las supervivientes. No nos vamos a callar. Pedimos a nuestra comunidad en general a estar con nosotros en la denuncia de Arturo “Pastel aka Paztel” Mireles y los que utilizan tácticas de miedo para silenciar a las sobrevivientes y los defensores.
